| • SAT OCT 4, 2025 • Thorns Rally Knocks Bay FC Out of Contention
Bay FC (1) @ Portland Thorns FC (2)
Portland, OR - Bay FC raced out of the tunnel with hope when rookie midfielder Taylor Huff struck a beautifully curled left-footed shot that gave them a 1–0 lead at the half. But that advantage proved fleeting as second-half heroics from Olivia Moultrie, who found the net twice, turned the tide and carried Portland to a 2–1 triumph. Bay matched or even edged possession in stretches, launched more attacks than the home side, and pressured deep into stoppage time. A late Alyssa Malonson header nearly tied it but drifted wide. The loss seals Bay’s playoff fate as they are officially eliminated from postseason play following this defeat. Despite the heartbreaking result, the performance provides flashes of promise with Huff’s confidence, Bay’s attacking intent, and the squad’s resilience shining through. But for now, the journey ends short. In a season where expectations and reality have often collided, October 4 might just be the moment Bay FC realizes it is time to rethink, rebuild, and return stronger. | • SAT SEP 27, 2025 • Late Blows Doom Bay’s Momentum
Bay FC (2) vs Utah Royals FC (0)
San Jose, CA - Bay FC’s brief spark of life was extinguished before halftime as Utah Royals struck twice in the first 20 minutes and held firm to take a 2–0 win. Janni Thomsen opened the scoring in the 9th minute, and Aisha Solórzano followed with a second before the break, her goal making history as the first by a Guatemalan in the NWSL. Bay constructed some promising raids after the interval, but they couldn’t crack Utah’s defense, which stayed resolute. The defeat halts Bay’s two-match unbeaten run and underscores ongoing struggles to find consistency in the final third. Meanwhile, the Royals extend their unbeaten streak to seven games, riding a wave of confidence. Going forward, Bay FC faces successive road tests, and the question now is whether they’ll regroup or continue sliding. Photo: Golden Bay Times Graphics Dept. |

| • SAT SEP 13, 2025 • Bay FC Earns Hard Fought Draw in Orlando
Bay FC (1) @ Orlando Pride (1)
Orlando, FL - Bay FC finally poked out of their skid, snagging a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pride that ended both their four-game losing streak and their scoreless run against this opponent. Orlando looked sharp early, hitting the post twice and pressing hard, but Bay’s Racheal Kundananji broke through in first half stoppage time with a header off a long ball and took the visitors into halftime ahead. The Pride fought back, and in the 70th minute Ally Watt, fed by Jacquie Ovalle’s precise cross, thundered in a header to level things. Orlando had a couple more goals disallowed, one for offside and another for a handball, but the scoreboard never budged again. Despite not getting the win, Bay showed grit, keeping possession well early, defending staunchly, and earning their first ever point against Orlando in four tries. The result leaves Bay FC with 18 points in the league and slightly more breathing room, though they will want more consistency as the season winds down. Photo: Golden Bay Times Graphics Dept. |

| • SAT AUG 23, 2025 • Bay’s Big Day Falls Just Short at Oracle Park
Bay FC (2) vs Washington Spirit FC (3)
San Francisco, CA - Bay FC hosted the Washington Spirit at Oracle Park before a deafening sellout of 40,091 people, the most ever for a U.S. women’s pro sporting event, as the club made an audacious city entrance. Washington, sharp and ruthless, struck early as Kate Wiesner cracked the net in the 7th minute and Croix Bethune doubled the tally before halftime. A fluke own goal handed the Spirit a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 cushion. But the teal-clad team from the Peninsula wasn’t about to waste the moment. Racheal Kundananji responded on the stroke of halftime and center back Kelli Hubly made it 3-2 early in the second, igniting the crowd and setting the stage for a fairy tale comeback. Bay FC pressed, possession swayed in their favor, and the fans roared for a third equalizer, but the Spirit’s defense held fast, sealing a 3-2 defeat. It wasn’t the result Bay hoped for, but the electricity draped over the stadium made one thing crystal clear: the Bay is ready for its team, and the city’s roar is just getting started. | | • SAT AUG 16, 2025 • Late Penalty Paints a Gritty Tale in San Jose
Bay FC (1) vs San Diego Wave FC (2)
San Jose, CA - Under the glow of PayPal Park’s floodlights and before 11,484 fervent fans, Bay FC found themselves pinned in a terse, tactical chess match until the second half awoke. Both sides ambled carefully through a first half without a goal, inching toward the edge of possibility. Yet, shortly after the break, San Diego Wave FC struck twice: first with a laser of precision from Kimmi Ascanio in the 52nd minute, then Kenza Dali slotted home a slick finish in the 63rd, her third of the season. Bay FC, stinging but far from broken, crept back to life. In the 75th minute, Caroline Conti coolly dispatched a penalty, fanning hope across the field. But that spark flickered amid stubborn defense and a final whistle that sealed a 2 to 1 defeat. Silkowitz stood firm between the sticks, racking up five saves, while Bay’s disciplined posture kept the Wave honest. The night threaded tension and subtle brilliance, no fireworks, just two sides refusing to blink first. Bay FC now turns its eyes north, readying for a high stakes showdown at Oracle Park next week. | | • SUN AUG 10, 2025 • A Midwest Chill Doesn’t Freeze Bay’s Grit
Bay FC (1) @ Chicago Stars (1)
Bridgeview, IL - Bay FC turned in a performance that felt more like a gritty short story than a headline, full of resolve, modest victories, and unspoken promise. Under what must have been sweat-soaked jerseys and dogged determination, Bay’s defender Taylor Huff planted the first flag in the 29th minute, her second goal in as many matches, a quiet reminder that this team’s not here to watch history but to write it. The optimism evaporated just before the break when Shea Groom pressed her luck and pounced to nod Chicago back on level terms. Both teams trudged into the second half with nothing more than pride and structure to trade, and that was enough. The final whistle blew on a 1 to 1 draw that mirrored the season, uneven, often frustrating, but never without backbone. Bay may not have delivered a knockout punch, but they left the pitch with their heads held high and a point in their collective pocket. And in a league where every point can feel like a lifeline, drawing on the road might just be the quiet breakthrough they need. Photo: Golden Bay Times Graphics Dept. |

| | • SAT AUG 2, 2025 • Bay FC Stays Alive in the Fight
Bay FC (2) vs Houston Dash (2)
San Jose, CA - Bay FC fought the Houston Dash to a 2–2 draw at PayPal Park today. In a match that felt more like a chess game than a soccer fixture, with momentum swinging back and forth until the very end. The home side struck first and carried a lead into halftime, only to see Houston claw back and level things in the second half. Rookie Taylor Huff delivered the night’s loudest roar when she slammed home her first professional goal in the 74th minute, created by a crisp sequence from Alyssa Malonson and Penelope Hocking, igniting the crowd and hinting at a breakthrough victory. But the Dash refused to vanish quietly, breaking Bay’s hearts in the 88th minute with a late equalizer that sealed the stalemate. For Bay FC, the performance was a blend of promise and frustration, a reminder that sparks of brilliance need to be matched with composure in closing minutes. Still, even with the sting of two points lost, the draw felt like an important step, offering glimpses of potential and the resilience of a squad still carving out its identity in the league. |

| | • SAT JUN 21, 2025 • Gotham’s Mid Summer Spark Turns Bay’s Sunshine Dark
Bay FC (1) @ Gotham FC (2)
Harrison, NJ - Bay FC lit the match aflame early, only to have the embers smothered by Gotham’s steely resolve. In Harrison, New Jersey, Bay’s Penelope Hocking seized an 11th minute opening, racing onto a Hannah Bebar loft, outfoxing the keeper, and tucking it in for Bay’s fourth goal of the season, painting an exhilarating early portrait of dominance. But Gotham, refusing to be mere extras in Bay’s narrative, responded with flair. Around the half hour mark, rookie Sarah Schupansky nicked the ball from a Bay defender and set up Esther González, who calmly drilled in Gotham’s equalizer, her 10th of the season and a record breaking pace for the club. The second act began with Gotham turning from underdogs to masterminds, as Nealy Martin sprayed a brilliant loft over Bay’s backline, and the ever opportunistic Geyse met the bounce and slotted home the winner with a subtle, decisive poke. Bay threw everything forward, including a rasping Hocking chance that curled just over, and a stoppage time attempt from Rachel Hill that never quite found its mark. The final whistle blew on a 2–1 loss that stings, yet speaks volumes, Bay outgunned but Gotham, with grit and smarts, stole the story. Photo: Golden Bay Times Graphics Dept. |

| | • FRI JUN 13, 2025 • Bay’s Late Surge Falters, Orlando Dumps Cold Water on Hopes
Bay FC (0) vs Orlando Pride (1)
San Jose, CA - Bay FC came out fiercely, piling up a season-high 20 shots, 12 of them in the final 20 minutes and stoppage time, yet ultimately fell short of flattening defending champs Orlando Pride. The wet dream of equalizing turned into a wet blanket when Barbra Banda took advantage of a fast Orlando counter, her 58th-minute strike sneaking past Emmie Allen after deflecting off Bay’s own defenders. Bay’s goalkeeper Emmie Allen, making her NWSL debut thanks to Jordan Silkowitz’s illness, held the fort admirably until that unlucky deflection. The first half felt like a chess match, defenses in command and the net untouched until both sides let their guard down in rapid-fire succession. Bay FC's late-game barrage, think Kundananji end to end stunner, Hocking flick at the open net, Conti’s top of the box snipe, hit nothing but brick walls, Orlando’s keeper and defenders turning away almost everything. Head coach Albertin Montoya admitted the performance was stronger than the scoreboard suggested, affirming they would go toe to toe with the champions if they cured their finishing woes. The night ended with Bay still breathing fire but scoreless, a vivid reminder that in the NWSL, chances are cheap and only goals count. |

| | • SAT JUN 7, 2025 • Bay FC Silents the Thorns with a First-Time Game-Changer
Bay FC (1) vs Portland Thorns FC (0)
San Jose, CA - Bay FC snagged a gritty 1-0 victory that carried more than just three points, it felt like a statement. Up against a Portland side that had been drinking from the undefeated fountain, Bay came out sharp, with the elusive forward Asisat Oshoala rattling the woodwork early and nearly doubling down on her mischief before halftime. The breakthrough came in the 39th minute, when defender Alyssa Malonson, emboldened by a precise assist from Penelope Hocking, blasted in her first professional goal from the flank, turning the moment into personal history and fan fodder. While the stats leaned Portland’s way with more shots, more possession, and more corners, Bay’s backline held firm, earning a second consecutive home clean sheet and ending Portland’s unbeaten run. Add to that another rookie milestone, as Jordan Brewster made her first start and delivered some solid defensive hustle before an early injury sidelined her. The night wasn’t just about a result, it was a reminder that for Bay FC the margin between the expected and the extraordinary is razor thin, and when it snaps, beautiful things happen.
